Weekend, what are you playing?

Happy father’s day to all you dads out there. Any videogame plans for this weekend? What games are you playing?

Migoy: It’s both Father’s Day weekend and ToyCon weekend so ToyCon took my Saturday and my dad is watching TV for Sunday. I was able to get in some Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 during Saturday morning before I left for ToyCon and a friend of mine lent me a few games. Got in almost an hour of WWE ’12 but since the net was being wonky, I went with local recording over live streaming the n00b insanity.

Quash: I won’t talk about Diablo 3, I promise. This weekend, I’m trying to finish a Hitman game for once. Not much of a Hitman fan but the next entry in the series, Hitman: Absolution looks amazing. So I’m playing Blood Money to get familiar with the series and it hasn’t grown on me yet. I’m a few stages in and the controls for the PC took awhile to get used to. We’ll see how it goes in the end, but I’ll definitely finish Blood Money.

This weekend has been ToyCon-heavy but I did manage to get in some play time. While I still haven’t touched any of the 12 free games for PS+ I have been able to download at least 10 of them for play at a later date.

After playing through (and achieving Platinum trophy status for) Iron Man 2, and being about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way through Thor and closing in on halfway through Captain America, I’m a bit burned-out on the Marvel movie tie-ins (following a guide does make it slow-paced a lot) so I’m going to delay play on that; this weekend has been more on my regulars, NBA 2k12 and Street Fighter X Tekken (the latter not being as big a regular but still, a match or two for training won’t hurt).

Me and my older brother do find ourselves going back to Arkham City and its predator challenges for Robin (which we finished last night), and now I’m trying Catwoman (brother won’t want to find out how bad he’ll play as her in a PredChallenge) and maybe Nightwing later. Combat challenges for the other characters can wait as I believe that’ll be easier for me to accomplish.

Vita still has Mortal Kombat whenever I find time for it; that game is fun and I don’t care how everyone craps on its graphics; it’s not like the graphics make the game.

Oh and I got a 60-minute free trial for Just Dance 3. It had ‘Let’s Go to the Mall’ by Robin Sparkles from How I Met Your Mother. Haha.
